Even though Amazon indicates a September '06 release date, I think I remember reading on DN's blog that he was hoping it'd be available by Christimas.

In any event, it won't be out for a while.

Whatever you do, don't preorder this book on Amazon while ordering other books! The bird brains will withold your entire order until May when this book is due for release (according to Amazon anyway).

I did preorder with a couple other books, but they had an option you could check to have the shipment split. So 2 books are arriving next week and DN's book is anticipated for Sept.

Amazon has obviously adjusted the books due for release date because until recently they were saying May. May 8 to be precise.

Well, it's not going to be released in September any more than it will be released in May. When the author keeps saying "late 2006" ... well, I think authors are overly optimistic about release dates way more often than they are overly pessimistic. The book hasn't been written, so actually getting it finished, edited, printed, and on the shelves by September seems extremely optimistic.

If I'm setting the over/under, I'm setting it at February 2007. (Which will still be a year before Raymer's book is released.;))

When he stops playing so much golf and poker and actually sits down to right it. Don't get me wrong, I think DN is awesome and he is by far one of my favorite players, but it really seems like he is slacking on this book and leaving eagerly waiting.
