Time or $$?

Do you give up 10 years of your life for $10M? If you are 20 now you become 30 instantly and die 10 years earlier than you would've done otherwise. If you were gonna die at 29 then it's game over.

This is likely a hypothetical question, though you never know.

Life, money is not as important

I'd take the money, so I could enjoy the remainder of my life. 10 years less life that I could do what I want is better than another 10 years chained to my desk.

So we lose 10 years right now or 10 years at the end of our lives, because I think that makes a big diff.

this is an interesting point

if u take the money, u can be done working an office job, which gives you 40 hours/week more for the rest of what woulda been your working career...so that could add up to more than 10 years...plus u'd have a better lifestyle to boot

i guess it depends on what u think ur chances are of being done with office jobs in the next x# of years...if i thought i was gonna be stuck in a cubicle hording my red swingline until i was 70, then i'd think long and hard about the 10mil...but since i don't think i'll be doing that, i choose life

Very important. Those 10 years between 90-100 probably aren't going to be high quality anyway.

Re: Time or $$?

Assuming the only thing that happens is that I immediately age 10 years when I get the money, I would go ahead and take it. I'd much rather not have to worry about money for the rest of my life than spend 30 years in some random office. As someone mentioned above, I could easily make up for those 10 years with all the non-working I would do.

FYP, I don't plan to live that long.

P.S., give me 10 million dollars right now and I will sign a contractual agreement to let you shoot me in the face on my 55th birthday.
