200 NL - AQs faces flop 3-bet/push
Villian is relatively unknown. He's been somewhat aggreesive preflop, but I've not seen anything like this post flop:
Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (10 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx MP1 ($95) MP2 ($191.95) MP3 ($351.20) Hero ($210.40) Button ($181.05) SB ($208.75) BB ($167.90) UTG ($297.30) UTG+1 ($295.50) UTG+2 ($196) Preflop: Hero is CO with A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. I'm guessing overpair trying to get rid of the flush/straight draw.
I'm calling here. I don't really like it, but I have to. |

Re: 200 NL - AQs faces flop 3-bet/push
First we calculate the pot odds. Pot size = $35 + $80 + $267.50 = $382.50. So we have to call $207.50 on a pot of $382.50, slightly better than 1:2.
If he has an overpair (KK/AA) or trips we need to make a flush, probably with 9 live outs, odds for that are 1:3 If he has just an underpair (JJ) or semibluffing with two high diamonds, we are a huge favourite. But this might be not that likely. He could have KJ of diamonds also, for a flopped straight and a flush draw. I think you are a little behind here, because against a straight, trips and overpair you have only 1:3. But I guess I would have called here, TPTK and a nut flush draw... I would put him on 99/TT for a flopped set. What did he have? |

[/ QUOTE ] The only diamonds I could see him POSSIBLY raising with from that spot are KJd, at which piont, I don't like my spot as much ... but I really doubt he has KJd. I thought it was a call as well. If he has AA/KK, I'm about a 53/47 dog. If he has JJ, I'm a 75/25 favorite. I didn't calculate a set, but it'd be essentially the same as AA/KK I would assume, since I need the flush to win, but another Q won't help me. Thanks for the feedback, I'm glad this wasn't a 100% easy call or fold. I called, he had JJ (one diamond) and hit the K on the turn for the straight. I didn't improve. |
Re: 200 NL - AQs faces flop 3-bet/push
Why not just call the flop bet? You have great implied odds to draw, and as turned out to be the case, a reraise leaves you in a tough spot.

AA we have 2 more Qs. It's unclear to me why we would ever have only 9 outs here vs. AA or KK. If it's K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] you have 13 (8 diamonds, 2 Qs, 3 As). |
