Looks like a set to me if villain is not spewy, it sucks to check the river and i doubt if i'd be able to resist the vbet either but its a sticky spot with the stack sizes the way they are and you should probably check through. Once you get cr'd again, you're definitely stuck calling though.

On the turn I think his range is 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]9x, Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]8x, set, and occasionally a flopped flush. Some stats on him or some idea of your activity over the last couple orbits would be helpful. If it were me I would 3-bet the turn AI most of the time I think.

As played, when he makes that river raise, I don't think he is ever expecting you to fold, and it is extremely unlikely he is raising for value with a weaker two pair. So fold and feel good about it.
