Raise the flop.

So many horrible turn cards can come for your hand, any D, any J, any K. All of these cards could turn our hand into a losing hand, or worse kill our action vs hands like Q10, AT, AJ.

I got greedy. Especially with the BB after me, horrible play on my part.

I'm not sure what the standard raise in a 5/5 game is, but it's gotta be at LEAST 30 here, right? Off the top of my head, I'd make it 35 preflop and raise the flop to 150 for reasons that Ryan laid out.

No value in betting the river. You will never get anyone to fold a better hand or call with a worse one.

I actually don't agree with that. AK, AQ, A10 and 1010 could easily make hero calls to a smallish bet here. The problem is that you are pretty suscpetible to a check/raise if he is at all tricky.

I struggle to see how many bigger hands would have got to this position on the river. I would consider sticking out another 150 if they were straightforward.

If you made it 35 on the button here the SPR would be about 4.5 and you would've been commited after your flop raise (assuming he bets like 60 and you pop it up to like 200). You didn't plan ahead here and it caught up to you on the turn.

As played UTG isn't checking a J on the end here. Just bet 150-200. I can understand checking behind though too because it closes out the action. That denpends on if you make a lot of thin value bets or not.

In a live game I'd raise to $35 or $40 pf
Raise the flop, ryan explained it. can't be tricky here...or afraid of KJ

I'd be hesitant to bet this river w/o a read on your villain. Live home game players seem to have too much FPS syndrome and could easily be checking a straight or flush here, as awful as that is.

I would check the river as played.

Raise a little more preflop. Like $35.

Raise the flop. If he has a straight or higher set, oh well. I think you run into combo draws and 2-pairs and a set of Ts here for all your chips more often than a straight. So, try to get the money in on the flop, if you can.

As played, check the river. Any JX has a straight and won't fold if you bet. Any diamond draw got there. And I don't think less than a straight will call a decent bet because they will fear that you at least have Jx yourself.
