$11 6 max on stars, what to do against donk?

The villian in these two hands has been very loose, calling raises with a wide range of hands. Normally he calls flop bets with any pair no matter whether its TP/TK, two pair or a gutshot straight draw or a flush draw.

My reasoning behind checking was that I may be able to encourage a bet from a misguided bluff on the river, or a lesser pair, and also minimizing my losses by calling a smaller bet on river because his bets are generally small. Thoughts? Is my thinking process right?

This next hand is against same opponent, and a player just as loose as him in the BB, I thought about open shoving but thought that my stack was too big. Thoughts.

hand 1 looks like a fold on the river. i guess if hes awful anything can be justified, though.

hand 2, both shoving and folding are better options with 12-13 BB then raising 3x.

I usually fold preflop at the low blind levels with A-rag. No need to steal the blinds at this point.

Thanks for the response AMT, I was just wondering if you could critique my thought process am I thinking through hands well especially the first one. What do you put villian on, we are getting decent odds on the river.

Hand 2: I think you are right, I am pissed about the way I played it, defintly should have shoved especially with the way villians were playing. I just thought that I might get more value this way since opponents are calling with such a large range and are going to miss the flop often.

fold both hands pre. These hands are both terrible for the exact reason you posted these hands; you just have no idea where you're at, and you can't get away from top pair if you are willing to call pre.

Yeah but I am very likely ahead of two random hands plus I have position, I think folding A3 on the button is too weak no matter what the blinds.

ace-rag is a trouble hand early in any MTT. Fold both of them.

I fold both here. You're losing value pushing A3 with 12 bb left
