Ugh this is brutal, i have like 1k hands on him about 17/6/2, hes a station mostly though, he's always calling down with medium strength hands trying to get people to stab into him I guess. He cold calls too much preflop so the issue is that QT is a possibility here, but I'm probably being nitty and folding here, only due to history with him.

I have him over 450 hands at 19.7/2.5/0.5. ???

So according to my stats that's a very strange move for him and I think a fold would be ok. Don't know though if I could do it..
What's your SN DBlack? PM me if you don' want to make it public.

am i crazy or is this a good spot to check-call the flop since we're either way behind or way ahead.

If you have AA and the flop comes A-2-2, you are way ahead or way behind too...

Maybe first to act...but we only have on person behind us to act, most likely 3 opponents are going to see a free turn here which we do not want.

I think a fold is good.

While QJ is possible for villain, and maybe even QTs, those hands seem much less likely than KQ, AQ, or 88 since he cold called your preflop raise out of position and QJ and especially QT seem a little too weak as starting cards to play that way preflop.

This board doesn't support much in the way of semi-bluffing hands for villain, so I doubt he has some kind of draw. I suppose it's possible that he might be bluffing without a Qx or better, but that is such a risky move OOP vs you (the preflop raiser) that I doubt he has nothing very often, if ever. That leaves Qx hands or better, and QJ is worse than most of his likely cold-calling hands OOP in a raised pot that hit this flop and turn hard enough for the c/r followed by a push.

Plus, his c/r then push on this high-card paired board when you could easily have AQ as the preflop raiser screams strength. I think he has at least AQ, himself, and more likely has 88 or KQ hoping that you have the other Q or Aces or even AK that you can't lay down.

oops i thought the board was Q88. but that's still a bet right because we're in position?

i was obviously referring to a situation where equity is ~50 but we fear few turn cards. i assume everyone understood that though and didn't feel the need to bring up some pointless fullhouse versus quads example.
