Help Me please I don\'t understand your odd system

Hello all

I'm french and my bookmaker offer a odd on decimal like 1.30 and i don't understand the relation between my systeme odd and your system like 110

I begin to understand the over/under ( it's no difficult ) and spread ( is handicap for us )

I think it's better understand if i give an example :

NFL Today game TEN @ DEN odd for my book :
Winner ( i think is money line for you )
TEN 2.05
DEN 1.80

Spread
TEN +1.5 1.91
DEN -1.5 1.91

Super spread
TEN -4.5 2.70
DEN +4.5 1.40

TEN +7.5 1.40
DEN -7.5 2.70

I have also many odd for many bet like MT/FT
pts in 1st quarter ect But for the moment i concentrate on spread and winner

XCan you explain the relation between my odd and your odd system

With this odd do you have a good sugest for tonight

I read the FAQ ( quicky perhaps ) and i don't find info on this subject

I can help a bit. The Euro books show the ML winner as your total return. It is misleading compared to the US system.

Example 1 TEN ML 205 - if you bet $100 - your book takes it out of your account. You win, they put $205 into your account.
US method would say TEN+105 - you bet $100 win $105 get $205.

Same result - different setup.

Example 2 - If you bet $100 on Den-1.5 and they win by 2 or more, you get $191 in your account.
US book would say Den -1.5 -110 which works out the same - if you bet $100 on Den you'd win $91.

I hope that makes sense to you.

Confused me- I thought if you lost, you'd lose 110 and if you win, you'd win 100.... so, if the European books take out the 110, they'd return that and your extra $100 for a total of $210 in your account after the Denver win.

Yes?

You'd only lose $110 in an effort to win $100 if you bet $110 to begin with. In Larry's example you bet only $100 on Den, so you win only $91 (technically, $90.91). It is the same payout percentage, which is $10 of profit for every $11 bet.

So yes you got it.

The decimal amount multiplied by your bet amount is how much you would get paid out, including your original bet, in the event you win.

e.g. Bet $100 at 2.5 get paid out $250 for $100 "profit".

The way I understand the american system is that if the number is negative you need to bet that amount to win $100 and if the number is positive that is the amount you profit if you bet $100.

eg -150 means bet $150 to "profit" $100 if you win
+150 means bet $100 to "profit" $150 if you win

So the relationship between the decimal and the american system (to get from one to the other is:)

Decimal = (Bet amount + To profit amount)/Bet Amount

2.5 = (100 + 250)/100 (+150)
1.67 = (150 + 100)/150 (-150)

If decimal < 2 then American =
100/(Decimal - 1)

If decimal > 2 then American =
100*(Decimal-1)

Hope this is clear. Please would others correct me if I [censored] this up.
