$16 Stars Bubble

Well I was playing and then this hand came up. The last hands that I saw CO play he went all in and won with 66 and earlier I had beat him AJ vs. A9 when he pushed. I thought that the range of hands he would be pushing is any pair and A6 and up. What should my play have been?

With the range you put in it is a call I think.

I would probably call here myself if the range of hands is large enough.
I think, however, an arguement can be made to fold with the blind only costing 200. At the next level I think you would need to call here, but with the blind at only 200, there are enough hands for you and the other bigger stack to force the short stack to a decision (or hope that the loose 3rd stack and shortie will stack off)
You're probably ahead without being in danger of being knocked out, but if our goal is to make the money, I think the play is to fold.

No my goal is not to make the money I want to win and be the best I can be. But I ended up folding and I felt like it was kind of a tight play myself. But the next time I believe I will make the call. I ended up placing first but I really could of made it easier on myself by taking out an opponent and chipping up. Thanks.

I ran it through SNG Wiz and it's a call, but it's close. If he's pushing top 12%, which is almost all pp's and A8+, then it's a fold. If he's pushing 14% (almost all pp's and A4s, A8o) it becomes a call. 13% is about breakeven. So your call/fold should be based upon what you think he's pushing.

It seems close so other factors are somewhat important. Is the big stack owning the bubble? If so then losing here and being one of the two short stacks would be pretty terrible. If everyone else is extremely passive and you don't have to worry too much about being pushed around if you go down to 2000 chips then the call looks good.

Re: $16 Stars Bubble

Yes the big stack is killing the bubble. I was actually happy to see he was folding because I really couldn't call any of the Big Stacks bets because it would be down to a race. But I won a race 66 vs. ATo sweating bullets. So thinking about that is making the fold seem better to conserve chips.

he doesnt seem insane, but its a reasonable call. this is near the bottom of my range vs only a moderately loose shover here, though.

Agree with AMT its the bottom of my range, I would call 77+ as well
