Would love some Feedback please:

Hey long time listener, first time poster.

I am working on a poker site and it's just about ready for the first eyes on it
The idea of the site is to help people become better poker players and to make poker hands more portable and shareable.

So the main idea is:

Poker hands are better played out/communicated as a youtube-like player rather than linear text.

The hands themselves should be portable. For the nerds amongst us, we are trying to define an xml format for each hand
The site is about making it easy to discus and share poker hands wherever that might be (i.e. on the persons blog, right here at 2+2 etc.).

And then have some sort of collective intelligence aspect where everyone can see which hands are winning and losing the most and then which rooms are providing the most action , etc.

The site only recognizes hold em hands from Full Tilt and Party Poker but if you upload your hand history files from other rooms, we save them if there is an error and will add support in the next week or so (so you'll see your hands appear then).

I'd love to get your feedback on the site? What we are getting wrong? What we are getting right? If you'd like to help us further and be more involved?

Look forward to your thoughts.

The card graphics things are kinda meh, http://www.aftertheriver.com/media/r...deck/60/d8.png http://www.aftertheriver.com/media/r...deck/60/c4.png

Also on the replayer, some of the cards are too small and it's hard to distinguish 5's from 6's, etc. In other cases a player makes a standard bet and the "all-in" bar pops up when they're not actually all-in.

whats the point of having the hands as a youtube-like player over linear text when timing tells are not conveyed in this format? it seems as if linear text will just be faster if there is no strategical gain.

Yeah, even when you fix all of the problems I'm not sure I see anything new here

Fair enough. The point was to make it easier to follow the hand. The player isn't pretty at the moment, for sure, but I guess in my mind it is a better way.

The point about the portability is that since it is structured in an XML format, we would allow designers to make their own players and even to export to the standard text if that is preferred. Just that the text is kind of sucky for me, at least.

Thank you for the kind words

One thing because of the structure is simply the intelligence, so we'd know what types of hands win or lose.

One other feature we were thinking about is basically player tracking. So if you had the room up in front of you, you'd be able to see what type of player the people you are up against, how they normally play etc.

Not that interesting to you?
