does it matter much?

does a psb get more folds than 3/4 pot?

do you mix it up?

does position play a roll?

i'm playing at the moment, so i'll post thoughts later...

I don't think so, since it's hard for a villain to put you on air or a hand when you c-bet. However, sometimes 1/2 pot can get the job done and sometimes it has to be more, it is really dependant on many things.

No this is not a leak and neither is mixing it up a little. If you bet 3/4 of the pot when c-betting with air and bet 3/4 of the pot when value betting the flop, it's more difficult to figure out. Same goes with firing a 2nd barrel on the turn. You do 2/3 with air because you think villain is drawing (and he folds) and you do 2/3 with a strong made hand the next time (and he calls) it's more difficult to figure out what you actually have.

OTOH...if you make a 3/4 PSB with air all the time and a full PSB with a made hand all the time, most observant players will figure this out. Same goes with bet sizing on the turn. However, mixing it up on occasion is good too. Most players at the micro stakes are not very observant but it's still very good practice to think about what you bet sizing is on all streets and what your opponents think they know about your bet sizing. If you think they're catching on, you might be very transparent and you should switch things up a little to throw them off.

It's not a huge leak, but you're missing out on some EV if you're always making your cbets the same size. You can vary the size of your cbets based on your opponent and the flop texture. Ie., you don't need to bet full pot against a guy who will fold for a 1/2 psb when he misses.

it's definitely a leak to use the same bet size for every c-bet. stack sizes, hand strength, and board texture among other things should all play a role in your bet sizing. its obviously ok to have a standard amount (i.e. 2/3 or 3/4 pot) but you really should be trying to adjust in order to manipulate your opponents better.

some examples would be 200bb deep, you have 22 and raise preflop from the button and sb calls. the board is 289 two-tone. i would usually be betting full pot here because the stacks are super deep, we have a big hand, and we want the money going in as fast as possible.

another would be 100bb deep, we raise JTs from HJ, BU calls, and we flop KJ8 with a flush draw. I usually full pot here as well, since we have a huge draw, yet still are happy taking the pot down without seeing the last two cards.

all that said, against regulars that MIGHT pick up on stuff like this you should be careful, but in all reality not many uNL players are going to be able to figure you out. especially if occasionally you make the PSB with air or TP instead of just huge hands and big draws.
