I don't think so. I would think that he is a pretty tight player with only 22 VPIP and him raising could indicate top pair with a better kicker or a higher flush draw. If you hit the flush on the turn and so does he, leaving you outkicked by either the king or ace, your money is dead. I also think a J 9 might not be out of the question for a stratight draw.

don't raise this preflop if you are ever bet/folding this flop

Re: NL25

We have top pair + flush draw. Not only can we call, we should be 3-betting.

The beauty of pair + draw-type hands is that no matter what he has, we have outs on him. If he has a better flush draw, then we're ahead and he's drawing to 7, not 9 outs. If he has an overpair, then we have all 9 flush outs plus 5 more trips/two pair outs. If he has two pair, then we have 9 flush + 2 trips outs.

Bottom line is we have a lot of equity against any hand, so we need to get money into the pot.

This is a hand that drives some people nuts, because weak tight players are confused here.

You have HUGE equity in the hand seeing both the turn and the river.

No preflop reraise, so KK+ is unlikely. If villain has TPTK, you have 9 outs the flush, plus 3 to the two pair.

Depending on villains aggression, I 3 bet here. AQ has a very hard call to make, a set should push, but you'll still have odds to call the push.

It's high variance, but you have enough outs to play against almost any hand villain could have.

3betting is fine. calling is probably even better. folding is lol.

I would call if we where in position, but I don`t really like it oop. If he has Top pair with a better kicker and our hand doesn`t improve on the turn, we will likely face a 2/3 to potsize bet. On the flop we have a pretty good equity vs his range, but on the river it drops considerable.

Play this the same way you are playing a set here
