Do I dare with a mere two pair?
I find that I never know how to play my 2pair hands that are made with an onboard pair and a mediocre pocket pair. I throw in a cbet with them and if it's called I get real scared. This is a perfect example. No reads on villain just sat down at table.
I'm interested in better lines to take with these hands. Also, villain here is a shorty, but I'm more interested in how to play these hands vs villains with 100bb stacks. Re: Do I dare with a mere two pair?
ehhhh, at the 10NL, against a $2.30 villain 88 = the nuts
shove turn, I'd even consider calling a river shove, it never ceases to amaze me how often people call with absolute garbage at 10NL (I'm playing there right now to rebuild some confidence/stack) |
Re: Do I dare with a mere two pair?
I'd also put him all in on the turn.
As played... I'd probably fold that. Ok you're getting good odds given he's probably a shortstack donk, but theres so many ways you could be beaten - any ace (donks tends to call anything with Ax), any two hearts, any jack. He could also be slowplaying, though thats not very likely. But then again, he could also be interpreting your turn check as weakness, and be trying to scare you off. Without reads I'd edge very slightly toward a fold. |
