2/4 NL - Trips no kicker, Slip N\' Slide board

2/4 NL 5-handed

Villain has $150, I cover. He's a semi-regular but is short-stacking for some reason (busto probably). He likes minraising or check-minraising monster hands and limps often. He doesn't bet draws from what I remember so this is why I was pretty confused as to what he could have. EZ-muck?

3 folds, Villain limps, Hero checks K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] in BB.

Flop K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

Villain bets $4, Hero raises to $15, Villain calls.

Turn A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

Villain bets $26, Hero calls.

River 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

Villain bets $22, Hero calls.

Agreed, though I'm skeptical this guy has any concept of value-betting either.

This looks quite confusing... I would say he is trying to price his draw in on the turn, but since you've said he doesn't bet the draws, this makes it a lot more difficult. I would imagine that while it is a mistake to limp UTG, the most common thing people limp with here is a small/medium suited connector.

Don't you have his stats? Can he limp with AQ or AT here? Limp with KQ? Limp with JQ? Suited connector? Min-bet Kx on really drawy board and NOT reraise you (unless, he has KT, of course)? If someone makes a mistake of limping UTG, I'd definitely make very detailed notes of what they do it with and how they play it to exploit it later.

Without a better read I like how you played it vrs this player. What did he show down? Judjing by your post, he must have had KT or JQ (more likely).

Site is incompatible with PT, so it's a pain I know. I try to keep about 1-2 paragraphs of notes on regulars.

As far as this guy, I rarely have seen him take this line. He'd either lead all the way or bet/call then check/call down, or check/call flop and check-raise turn. AQ would be too strong for him to limp, but all those other hands could be in his range, I just don't have a lot of bvb experience versus him. The donking turn line seemed strong but also really out-of-character for him, and I admit I paid off river just to see what the hell he had since it to me I felt it was either KT or air. Turned out he had T5 of spades and MHIG. Weird stuff.
