wtf river c/r

villian is expert, lagtag. I haven't with him before today, but I assume he's got a lot in his bag of tricks.

Hero open Jc9c in HJ, Villian calls in BB

Flop: Q85 with 1 club

Villian c/c

Turn: 5c, giving me a flush draw with my gutter

Villian checks, Hero bets (?), Villian calls

River: offsuit 9

Villian checks, Hero bets (?), Villian raises, Hero calls (?)

If he has 67 he has 67. If you still play as aggro as I remember you playing I would have c/c, c/c, c/r vs. you with it as well.

Gonna be honest you can fold that river if you think he is a good player.

Well, after betting all 3 streets villain has to figure you for a good hand, probably at least TT, QJ, etc. so I think folding the river is fine. I would figure he's got JT or at least 98.

My river aggression's pretty low, but I think I check behind on the river. Will a good handreader pay off with worse?

actually, I don't know how long ago you've played with me, but I have toned down my agg significantly over the last couple months. I still bet quite a bit when I have the initiative, but I've adopted a lot of wa/wb lines and prefer showing down when I feel like I need to b/f if I choose to bet.

Don't you think 76 check-raises the flop?

Yes he would pay off with Ahi.

Considering the fact that this guy would have to have played JT or 67 on the flop and turn like he did, vs. you, you can bet/fold this river.

If he c/r'd bluffed you then your read is way off imo. If he's like 3rd level thinking then who cares lose the pot his head will explode and he will tilt all his $ away in no time.

The line of BB is strange, he would have probably c/r the flop with a pair.

I'm not sure about the river bet. Tryptamean raise from HJ. If BB has Ace high, he can just beat KT and KJ in his range imo and it is unlikely Tryptamean bet the river with them. Moreover, it is quite unlikely BB call flop and turn with ace high, maybe with the nut flush draw. He can call the river with a pp tough.

I agree for a fold ont he river, J9 is almost the worst hand we can have when we bet the river.

Many gutshots can give up on the turn, so we have to bet.

Re: wtf river c/r

When a good/thinking villain c/c's me on this flop I am done putting in more money UI.

People always fastplay their draws on the flop, so when someone c/c's me on this flop I basically put him on A high or 4x or a low pp. None of these are folding the turn.

Trypta.

As played I throw in a wtf call. As said, I expect them to be fastplaying JT and 76 so I just call here. But to be honest I have a hard time seeing what hand he wants to turn into a bluff here...

Re: wtf river c/r

oink while i'm with you a lot of the time, vs. a guy like tryp i'll sometimes no fastplay a draw because basically i'm putting in 2bb's and then c/f'ing the river when i miss because on that board he folds pretty much nothing to my c/r.

I would fastplay 45 on a K23 more often than 67 on this board.

This is opponent specific imo.
