seems like if you're 3 betting pre in this spot you should bet this flop. if you check the flop and bet turn, bet bigger (like almost pot) and fold to a raise. whenever i play this passively i seem to put myself in the same tough spot. as played i'd expect villian to check behind with lower pocket pairs on a lot of rivers if you check, but if he fires again it's tough since his range is huge.

Yeah either bet the flop like you have AA, or don't 3b pre. Your flop play + turn bet is just inviting a raise. As played bet the river for value.

I agree with the above, however as played I check/call river.
