Overbet simple math

Question by dummy:
If I bet 2 pot-sized bets on the river, then I have to win 2 times out of 3, ~66%.
If I bet 3 psb's otr, then I have to win 3 times out of 4, 75%.
...
If I bet 9 psb's otr, then I have to win 9 times out of 10, 90%.

Is it correct? Thanks.

Re: Overbet simple math

That's correct .

In general , if you bet $a into a pot containing $b , then you need to win a/(a+b) .

1)So plug 2b=a into the expression and you get 2b/(3b) = 2/3
2)Plug 3b=a and you get 3b/4b = 3/4
3) Plug 9b=a and you get 9b/10b =9/10 .
