Make serious posts
 

Another long one from sushi [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]. To be honest I make these posts mostly for my own sake. It's a trick I have learned while studying at the university. By writing down your thoughts u force urself to really spell out what you are thinking.

Very often your thoughts are not as clear and/or interesting as you thought when they only lived in your head. You also get to see the borders of your understanding. If you can't write it down you haven't really understood it.

Guess what I'm saying is: go ahead and write serious posts. If no one reads it, so what. If everyone calls you a dumb XXXX it doesn't really matter. If they use arguments think about them. If they do not, ignore.

Instead of always posting a hand with reads looking like X/Y/Z, sometimes post a serious analysis you made of a hand. You will learn sooo much more. And the good posters here will have a much easier time to correct the parts of your thinking which are not so great.

I understand most of us doesn't have time to make serious posts often. Many of us doesn't even feel like reading a long post. That's fine. Most of the time you just want to post a hand and get some responses on how to play it. But every once in a while put in an effort. The reward will mostly be your own. And it will make the forum more alive.
