NL10 Overplayed top pair???

Villain was up 1.5 buyins already, so either he was a lucky fish or a solid player.

Preflop. I don't like raising hands like AK from UTG. Just to avoid playing raised pots OOP. Is this -EV?

My turn bet is weak, I know. I was hoping he would either raise or fold. It didn't really let me narrow his hand range. Sucked, pretty much.

River. Should I put out another value bet? Or just check, is top pair ever good here?

Re: NL10 Overplayed top pair???

definitely raise preflop the first time, flop bet i good, turn bet should be a bit more, something like $2.15-$2.4. as played you should prob shove river, esp since you have the As making FDs less likely on his part.

Raise this preflop to your normal preflop size. I like flop and turn. C/c river to snap off a bluff from missed draws.
