Mythos - The New Diablo 3?
 

Mythos is the second game that is being created by Flagship (for release some time in 2007), and from the looks of it it seems like Diablo2 + Fate.

Best of all is its going to be free to download and play.

They're also beta testing now, so hit up www.mythos.com to sign up for beta.

Ok, so Hellgate: London has [unfortunately] been just about universally canned as mediocrity - so they decide to immediately go ahead and release a derivitive of it? Seems like an odd business plan.

WEll I'm downloading the beta as we speak. Don't have time to play it tonight, but I will post a small review tommorow I guess.

It's a slightly simplified version of Diablo 2 without the atmosphere.

K brief first impressions:

- Supports higher resolutions then diablo 2 [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img], playing it at 1920*1200
- 3 different races, small humans, humans with horns, and normal humans
-3 base classes, mage, fighter, marksman, but lots of subclasses, and mix and match stuff

-graphics are ok, but simply
- Feels a bit like a combo between guild wars and diablo 2, but with the pace of diablo 2

Not sure what I think of it really, but for a free game it sure is nice, not that it matters to me but a lot of people are going to play this game that's for sure.

it's a free game. like free to download? or no monthly fee once you buy it in stores?

It will be completely free to download and play. There will be an optional monthly fee.
