$6 NLTRN: Playing trash in an unraised pot

This is about the 7th hand in, but my read on my opponent is that he's somewhat loose passive. A few hands ago he had called my 2/3 pot CB with KTo on a 4-Q-3 rainbow flop. I only fired on the flop and then he checked down after calling. So I concluded he's somewhat loose with his flop calls and a bit passive.

Should I have just not gotten involved in this hand since the pot is so small, or is my play okay.

You played it fine .

You bet on the flop with a probable best hand . On the turn you continued with your aggression by leading out with your draw .On the river you check-folded because you have the second lowest pair with a weak kicker .

Thanks a lot for your comments. I just started playing HU SNGs, and I'm often in this situation (pots where my opponent open-limped and I check with trash). I'm glad to see that I played this correctly.

lolol i call here all night,. dont ask why. IDK myself. But i see myself doing it.

in general, I would not build this pot up like you did OOP. Menaing I wouldn't bet both streets.

so you guys will pot this on flop and turn w/ intent of check folding any river that dosnt improve our hand?

only hands i can see villain betting on river are monsters, 8x, 9x, and bluffs. IMO bluffs will make up a much greater % of his range. Thats why I would call.

thats no good thinking in a 6$ Husng. You have no idea what people show up with in these spots.

I dont always bet the turn, mostly just check it and give up if he bets. Betting isnt terrible though.

As played I always c/f to any riverbet.
