We are doing straddle rounds, it has typically been 3 to 5 bets 4 to 6 ways preflop. A guy is tilting and decides a dead 90 is his best option. UTG+1 (tight shot taker who didnt 3 bet CO's open raise with AQ OTB(before straddle rounds)) 4 bets, tight guy calls, folds to me in sb with 99, I fold...

Its fine. You will essentially be calling 5 bets since straddler or dead 3 baller will 5 bet. You will also be oop the entire time. I wouldn't hate you for calling either. Btw I went back two nights after the disaster night and burned another 2 racks, but have won 100bbs on the internet. Lol.

I was told this was a bad fold by two respectable players. I thought there would be a little debate due to the fact that I am folding to one raise. What if I had tens?

Let's see, dead 90 guy is calling no matter what, so its at least gonna be 4 ways if you call. If the BB or straddler calls thats 6 ways. My experience in these type of games is both will call frequently. 5-6 ways sounds like set value to me, nevermind the fact that you have nines! I call with 22 here.

Yeah, thats what I was expecting to hear. Thought it was somewhat close. I am still getting used to the craziness of the game sometimes and when I looked at my hand I avoided the situation because I am a nit at heart. I knew after thinking that in the worst case I am getting like 5 to 1.
