quick flop decision in 3bet pot

no hud as usual these days. been 3betting villain semiregularly but nothin too crazy w/out much problem. seems like he has a pretty tight calling range for 3bets, so I expect him to actually have a hand here.

Full Tilt Poker, $0.50/$1 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 5 Players
LegoPoker Hand History Converter

UTG: $101.50
CO: $128.35
Hero (BTN): $154.35
SB: $21.50
BB: $119.05

Pre-Flop: A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] dealt to Hero (BTN)
UTG folds, CO raises to $3.50, Hero raises to $12, 2 folds, CO calls $8.50

Flop: ($25.50) T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 Players)
CO checks, Hero bets $19,

does anyone like checking back the flop here from time to time? really don't mind giving a free card cause I'll usually have him reverse dominated if he catches an Ace, or he'll have 3 outs.

I like checking here, if you're betting it should be with the intention of calling a raise/shove because he's probably not gonna c/c with worse hands if you've been 3-betting him a decent amount pf like you say you have been.

I think I'd rather bet the flop, and check behind on the turn. I suppose if there's lots of history, you gotta start thinking about mixing up your play.

I check flop for various reasons. 1 being he won't call with a worse hand. Another you have mentioned already. Also consider pot control and his hope arising that 99 could be good.

nazhal- If he is behind in this hand he is drawing at most likely 2-3 outs. The same goes for you.
