Easy question...

yet its not clicking for some odd reason.

we are given a study guide. it says "of the 15 questions listed, 7 will b on the midterm, and you must answer 3 of them"

what is the minimum number of answers i shud have memorized to ace the midterm?

(also, if u can show me how the hell u came up with the answer so i dont have to ask dumb things again, that wud b sweet. thnx =) )

11 will guarntee an A. If he picks the worst combination (a combination that includes the 4 you don't know) you'll still get an A. If you knew only 10 he could pick 5 questions you didn't know.

Re: Easy question...

visualized: a="know", b="dont know": possible scenario if you know ten: aaaaaaaaaabbbbb, prof picks final seven, you dont know one. if you know eleven you are good: aaaaaaaaaaabbbb, prof cant pick seven where you dont know one.

why learn all of it if u dont have to? its a hist 100 course...i see no reason in wasting brain power learning everything about european art.

I wouldnt learn more than 10 then, unless I was going to be shot for failing or something, assuming there's 0 correlation between the questions you learn & the questions that appear on the exam. Chance's of "failing" 7*6*5*4/15/14/13/12 = small.

Re: Easy question...

i learned 10. Aced it no issue.

had the same type thing for the essay section as well (6 given, 3 will b on the midterm, answer 1), also got one i knew on there (only knew 3).

new level of laziness? or maximizing time-value?
