$5/$10 PLO8, Party

This hand has been bugging me lately. Any suggestions on my line would be appreciated. Would you play this differently? Judging from the few hands I've played against him, BB is a solid but sometimes tricky opponent who could float and bet scare cards, but I don't see how he can not have 45 here? Am I too aggressive on turn and river?

I committed almost half my stack already, but can I call river reraise?

Hope the converter works...

Are you saying that you considered the 7 to be a scare card?

If he had 4-5 would he call the turn and let a flush draw?

Your opponent's turn call marks strength, so this hand is not strong enough to be a value bet on the river, nor is it weak enough to be a bluff with air.

I think it's much much better to check river, as this induces bluffs. And you can see the showdown (if you want to) for approximately the same price as taking a bet-fold line. River lead is spewy IMO.

Re: $5/$10 PLO8, Party

What is bothering me is that a strong player, in position, could flat call both flop and turn with any mixed bag of low cards and make a strong bluff on the river. BB is hard pressed to put me on 45, or a flush draw, but might indeed give me credit for AA with any wheel card to go. The turn brings the ace, which typically isn't good for me, the bettor, but more often than not it brings redraws for full house. This would than explain why he is flat calling the turn and waiting to see a non paired river before he raises. He could do this with 45 too, and exploit the fact that I will probably bet on the river. Along these lines, it is not important whether he has 45 or not, just that I don't have a made hand.

In this hand, I put BB on a hand that fit reasonably well with the flop but not 45, eg. a56x or set with low cards. I didn't read the turn call for the strength I probably should have, and I figured I could still push him off a split pot if the river would bring a brick or value bet if I filled up or flushed.

But sometimes, that valuebet comes comes right back at you. Which is why I, as BlueBear already said, should have checked.

Still not clearcut to me though...

First post. Here it goes.

There's no way the river raise is a bluff. you played it very strong all the way (well, too strong).

Opponent's call on turn is good in my opinion, if he has the nuts xx45o without redrwaws it helps him to control the pot size, and is not giving you a freeroll if you in some cases have 45 with flushddraw. This way he also induces you to bet the river, because your likely to bet the river too.

If you have no good reads or solid knowledge about the player your playing with, I even consider check-folding on turn.
