A friend lives in FTW and wants to drive up to Okla to play live for the first time. Is there anyone who can tell me about the casino near the Okla/Texas border? I don't know the name of it, but I'm planning on going down to visit and driving up with him to play. Thanks.

It's called Winstar. The place is discussed fairly frequently, so you are likely to find useful info by doing a search of the forum.

There is also a casino right north of Wichita Falls which would be about the same drive. You can check both web sites, Winstar and Commanche Red River for tournys and what they spread.

Some of these West Texas gars are making the long drive very often because the action is rather easy. I won $2000 my first hour in the state of Oklahoma in a game where you could only buy $200 at a pop. I hit a real lucky rush. A monkey would have scored large. Last time I was there I split first in a little tourney where my end was a little over a dime. I love Okies, they drink and smoke and there is loud music from a live band. Get soft foam ear plugs at Walgreen's. They just announced plans to build a $100 million casino near Lawton. Hooray for the Indians!

There's a few on the border, but I can attest to the profitability of Winstar. Just across the border on I35.
