Poker Players Alliance Newsletter: Poker Calculator Bad idea?

This link struck me as odd:

https://pokerplayersalliance.org/pre...le.php?DID=189

Is this against the T&C of most sites having a real time aid to calculate odds. Most similar programs I have seen frowned upon. Since Pokerstars/Fulltilt runs freerolls for the PPA was this run by them?

On a side note, congrats to them for 800,000+ members, 1,000,000 by year end?

Thanks!

Its just another way for PPA to get people to upgrade their membership. If you don't upgrade then their program only works on 'play money tables'.

all sites allow you to use a card calculator while you play, as long as it is not telling you what to do or making decisions for you

By "upgrade" does that mean if we already donated money for the year (I did it through the FT promotion a few months back) that we have to donate more money for the program? Or if we've already given money this year we should have full access? When I click "upgrade" my account on PPA's site it just sends me in this loop that returns me to the front page.
