Stars update - Resizeable lobby

The resizeable lobby is back.
Stars is taking up more memory than normal on my computer.
My mouse might be behaving a little funny as a result but at this point I can't quite tell if it's just my imagination/paranoia.

more later. anybody else notice a difference?

Tournament lobby resizable too.

but it doesn't even shrink them as best I can tell. You can only make them larger.
Why would I want to make the lobby gigantic?

Also appears the font-size option is back but it doesn't appear to effect the chat-box, just the lobbies.

Maybe you have a gigantic screen. <screen>

The resizable lobby is intended to allow players to see either more games in the main lobby (if you keep the font size the same) or the same number of games with a larger font size. The "default lobby size" that you're used to is the minimum allowed -- there's just not room for the necessary data in a smaller lobby.

Correct. The font size selector applies only to the main and tournament lobbies. It does not affect the game table at all.

And to answer your earlier post, Bob, yes, it takes up a tiny bit more resources than it used to. Everything in the lobbies is now drawn in a markup language rather than using bitmaps, and that takes up a bit more space. The method of painting the tables onscreen has also changed to allow for other, as-yet-unreleased features.

The increase in resources should be negligible -- still a footprint of under 30 MB of RAM for the main lobby (and it only gets that large if you've visited every game tab -- it can be as low as 13 MB).

thanks for responding in both threads jeff.

I see that stretching the lobby vertically to see all the games of a given stake without having to scroll back and forth can indeed be pretty helpful.

Regarding the 'visiting every tab' part. Does this mean that the less I surf around in the main-lobby the fewer resources it will use up?

Argh still need to be able to select multiple tables (for joining waiting lists, and to easily open up tables when sweating someone)
