Q8 Final Table Push (pf) 64 players (live charity) - Please advise
 

This hand occured earlier this week at said tourny.

Note - only 1 significant prize (vegas vacation valued around 2k)

Blinds are 15 mins at this point and are $20k / 40k by FT

I am roughly tied for chip lead w/ 100k

Hero (button) 100k
SB 95k
BB 105k
utg 20k
utg+1 40k

folded to me:

(Reads - SB is ABC but thinking player (dangerous). BB is weak tight nit, but decent instincts (elderly FWIW))

I push - SB tanks then finally folds. BB tanks forever.. and eventually calls my all-in. AK - board blanks - to the rail..

I feel as though this was a good push against 2 unk hands at this point, but I had 2 more hands before blinds came around. Calling was not an option (obv). My thinking was that with FE involved this was standard, but I was criticized by a buddy of mine who was railing.

Standard? or should I have waited? Please advise..

Are Blinds 20k/40k or 2k/4k. If 2k/4k I think this is a terrible push, nothing wrong with raising in this situation being that deep. Open pushing 25BBs with q8 is not +EV

20k / 40k - chip leader is in BB - Blinds just hit this level.

if one one real big prize this looks good...blinds are ridiculous and you need to steal when LP presents itself...


also consider this...if he tanked that long with K then he would have folded a huge range...play is fine and even when called you were live

thats what i was thinking.. thanks for the feedback.. (so frustrated, started to 2nd guess..
