Was this line too passive? I figured that with position, I could exercise some pot control, but wonder if I could've gotten more value. No reads on villain at the time.

I'd get my stack in somewhere without thinking too much about it.

Betting/raising/shoving the flop, turn or river all seem fine to me.

And at the very least, the river is an easy value bet.

What am I getting value from on the river? JJ? A weirdo with A-7? Maybe I'm giving people too much credit for what they'll call me down with?

Damn, I though I wrote a response here already...

What I wrote was: I think you have at least to value bet here on the river. Turn check is ok for me.

NP Alex. I've been having a tough time recently (especilly in hands like this) putting villains on crap that will call me. I've been checking a lot of rivers lately and have been wondering if that's affecting my overall game.

I know that problem, but you're losing just too much value by checking rivers behind in unrisky spots like this. Plus you got position here and there are only few players out there that would check a better hand to you on turn and on river, going for the c/r on the river simply because they are afraid that you just check behind as you did.

How about on the turn? If I bet here, I can (hopefully) fold out AJ+ and not give them a chance to hit on the river. I guess it boils down to whether I want all my chips in the middle.

I think you have to at least value bet the river after villain checks for the second time in front.

Re: 25NL QQ in 3bet pot

Well normally, I'd bet that turn most of the times, especially as it makes this board a little drawy (for BD draws of course). But as you mentionend, you wanted to go for some pot control here then you have to do this on the turn cause you can't be sure that you will be able to control the pot size on the river by checking behind.
Just for the records: I'm betting here all three streets pretty much for value and would only start thinking a little if he raises me somewhere along the way.

This is probably the best line to take, Alex (betting all streets for value) but I've hit a downswing today and the vision tends to cloud a bit when things are running bad lol.
