You missed the drama by a year or thereabouts, but long story short ... no Ed does not participate in the forums anymore.

Ed Miller writes about poker alot more than he plays poker. He is highly overrated. He doesn't make his living from playing poker, he makes his living from writing about poker. He's a writer, he's not a professional poker player.

Re: Ed Miller

Ed Miller writes on a level he is currently learning, rather than the one beneath that he properly understands. Some like that style, they feel more involved in the process or something. I find it too verbose and undirected, and prefer to learn from masters and work out the details for myself. It takes all sorts, I suppose.

Are you implying that he is either no good at poker, or that he writes about things that would not be helpful to most poker players? That's the same old crap that's been spewed about teachers for years in the adage "those who can, do. Those who can't, teach." It's my understanding that Ed has been very succcessful both as a player and as a teacher, and simply prefers teaching. Maybe he's not a better player than you are, but a lot of people can benefit from his advice and become break even players or even winners instead of total fish.
