Diagnose me, doctors!
 

Ok, so here's the deal. I have a slightly inflammated and red back of my throat, including my uvula.

There are small white sores way back in my throat as well.

I have no excess phlegm, no fever, no coughing... my throat is sore when I swallow, and burns a smidge just sitting around.

I havent had oral sex since December, and I ate like 2 gallons of popcorn like 3 days ago, so Im thinking I just tore the crap out of my throat with all those sharp kernels and such. I figure if it was a sickness Id have other symptoms and if it was an STD I would have noticed something sooner than 3 months after.

Any other symptoms other than a sore throat? A sore throat could mean loads of things. Most likely it's the begining of the flu, or a cold, or tonsilitis.

Very good chance you have strep throat or tonsillitis.
Barring either of those sounds like a good ole common viral infection that you just have to wait out.

Just the white sores. They arent pussfilled or anything, just like 8-10 little white scratches/sores around the size of the period in this sentence.

I know my body pretty well, and I dont think its the flu or anything similar, I feel very well otherwise, and have for the past 2 days.

PS- Inflammated is a cool word I made up... some people say inflamed

Anyway, I was about 80% sure it was the popcorn, no one else thinks this is possible though?? I havent been tonguing any girls/guys lately or putting coins in my mouth, I shouldnt be getting sick.

If its tonsilitis what will the subsequent symptoms be?

strep infection, its not uncommon.

If it is bacterial then you could get anti biotics, if its viral then you are sol and just need to give it time.

Gargle with salt water to relieve the pain of swallowing (dont swallow the waterthough, unless you are gross.)

If you dont have a fever/ flu like symptoms I wouldn't bother with a doctor.
