Loser-ism

Part 1

Are you a "loser" if you:

go out and eat dinner by yourself
go to the movies by yourself
go to a sporting event by yourself
go "clubbing" by yourself
go to a strip club by yourself
spend your friday night's at home by yourself
go for a whole day without seeing another human being
?

Which ones are worse than others? And how many of these do you have on your resume to be considered a "loser"? Are one of these actually not signs of being a "loser"? And any better ones you can think of?

Part 2
1. You are a "loser" if you have not had sex in (insert period of time).
2. You are a "loser" if you have not been on a date in (insert period of time).
3. You are a "loser" if you have not had some trace of a relationship in (insert period of time).
4. You are a "loser" if you have less than ____ good friends.

When my wife does the girlfriend thing, and none of my friends are around I often grab the Wall Street Journal and hit one of my favorite pubs for some dinner and beers.

I do go to a movie by myself occasionally. Usually when I'm fed up with work and need some time away. I'm self employed as a consultant so my time is my own.

I've hit strip clubs occasionally when travelling alone on business.

When my wife is out of town, sometimes, my day is work and my night is poker and I don't see another human being. This happens about once a month, but only works out this way some of those as I like to party with the friends when my wife is out of town.

Niether me or anyone I know considers me a loser. Whatever.

You can do all of those things without being a loser.

I used to think it was weird to go to a concert by yourself until I did it, and it's possibly more enjoyable that way. Going to see movies alone was one of the most relaxing things I did when backpacking around Europe. Being able to sit down in a comfortable chair, hear English, and take a load off was amazing.

Going to a sporting event can't be any differen than going to a musical concert by yourself. Going clubbing by yourself seems strange, but I can buy into it if you like to dance and are very sociable. Going to strip clubs alone seems weird, but I've never even been to a strip club with other people.

The friday nights and not seeing another person are standard. Heh. Not loserish at all.

In all seriousness, reread the OP and try to figure out who is in their first year of playing poker for a living.

I think these are loner-isms, not loser-isms, even though one probably leads to the other.
