Best Lead Singer Of All Time

i got into an argument with my friend about this, i wont say who we picked but im curious who you all think. we are talking only singer, no other key instrument. it is okay if they play one sometimes but not a main roll other than singing, so who do you guys think?

It wouldn't be anyone on that list, I'm pretty sure -"doesn't play an instrument" cheapens the question a little too

I'll take Robert Plant. For the post-1980 category I'll take Chris Cornell. Although Chris Cornell played guitar on pretty much every Soundgarden song iirc, so he might not count given your parameters.

[/ QUOTE ]he's not saying they aren't allowed to play an insturment, he's saying don't take that in to acount, just based on pure singing

he really has (or rather, had) a really amazing voice. If you haven't listened to much Soundgarden, Badmotorfinger is a great album to start with.
