Live 5/10 Super Deep with 88

Ok I am at a casino, where I don't play often maybe 3 times a year.

I have been at the table for like 4 hrs now, and villan has been here for longer. I am not sure about the others but they seem just OK.

Villan- He has 3 bet P/f lots, very aggr. but def. not a donk. Lots of times he would c/bet he had a strong hand. I don't think he is bluffing big, I have seen him get caught a couple of times.

The hand

Hero has ~$8,000
Villan has $8,500

I am in MP with 88 2 limpers and I raise to $60 (standard for table) and 1 other calls, and Villan from button Re raises to $250. I call and other folds.

Flop 4 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

Now thats what Im talkin about. I just basically crapped my pants, and I am not kidding.

So I check, and villan bets out $400.
I think for about a minute, and count 12 $100 bills, and I put them in. (I tried to maybe look like he has AK and I have alittle over pair trying to steal. I was hoping he would make a mistake or raise.) He calls. At this point I am so confused, I think he has AA, or KK.

Turn brings K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

I bet $2550.
He takes a while and is thinking. Under his breath he says ALL in.

Now my hand looks like crap. I am so confused, I think he might have KK.

Then I am thinking, why would he push??
Its about 4k for me to call.

Please help in this spot. Did I play this ok up till here? And most importantly do I call?

1) Although the online multitablers are obsessed with doing so, I don't like raising 88 preflop here. You accomplish nothing except giving a big hand an opportunity to shut you out of the pot, while folding out top pair hands that you want in (KJo, QTo, etc etc). In this case, assuming he had a big hand, this is exactly what occured (you were able to call 250 correctly b/c of how deep you are, but usually would not be able to).

2) Bet the flop. Get value if he does in fact have a big hand. If he's a thinking player to any degree, C/R'ing announces that you're big here.

3) Turn, as played is a call. You have half your stack in the pot already and are getting obscenely good odds. live players at all levels do this with a considerably wider range then KK.

If Villain has quads, so be it. FWIW no one I've ever seen takes this line with 44 and this board.

Massive level?

Pretty tough to think anyone would play 44 like this.

Bad beat jackpot at this place?
