Dealer error..

At my local B & M I play Omaha Hi-Lo split 8 or better and have noticed that there is a lot of dealer error in determining the winning lo hand. What is the proper procedure for clearing up a mistake before the dealer mucks the cards?

Pretty much no substitute for protecting your hand, i.e. do not let go of your cards until you are pushed your portion of the pot.

Take a huge stilleto and slam it into the table so that the point sticks and the handle vibrates wildly. And say "Now that I have your attention..."

I have seen one 2+2'er scream "STOP" at the top of his lungs when the dealer was about to do the wrong thing.

But perhaps just correcting the dealer would be simpler. Whether you are in the hand or not.

Slap the dealer. Slap the Floorman. Slap Security as they escort you out.

Whenever I've played Omaha 8/b in a casino almost all the dealers have dreaded coming to the table. It's just a confusing game for a lot of them to wrap their minds around. Often players can be quicker at reading the hands than the dealer. My suggestion is to help out the dealer and realize they're hopefully trying their best to figure out the hands.
With all that said -- protect your hand at all cost. Dealer doesn't touch it until the pot is pushed. There's plenty of time while the dealer is chopping the pot to correct any errors.

You shouldn't be too far out of place screaming at the top of your lungs, whining like a baby, and cussing out the dealer.

Otherwise, just politely announce your hand when you flip it up. That is what I do, and I actually tip, like a sucker.

But it is because of the first sentence that I only played live O8 three times. I hate being around morons and acting like one will only accomplish a slower game.
