JJ in tough spot preflop

UTG is a fish, UTG+1 is a TAG, more on the tight side though. Not enough hands for a reliable stats, but he is 14/12/1.33 so far.

Shove?
Call and get it in on low flop?
Fold?

Does anybody at the table squeeze more often than usual? Particularly CO/Button I guess.

Re: JJ in tough spot preflop

Well, not more than usual in today's games.
You think he smooth called hoping for a squeeze?

Re: JJ in tough spot preflop

Is the fish really passive preflop? That would certainly make it significantly more likely that the nit cold called with a monster. Regardless I'd just read 14/12 and fold.

Re: JJ in tough spot preflop

If the fish is passive preflop, wouldn't it mean that his early position raise means a strong hand and no point in slowplaying AA?

But i just checked - fish is 55/34

I did actually.

The thing here - did the villain smooth call hoping for a squeeze or is he putting me on a squeeze and doing it with like AQ,88-TT kinds of hands?

Or impossible to tell basically?

Re: JJ in tough spot preflop

Well, 55/34 opening UTG followed by a call seems like an ideal squeeze situation. I don't know how you tell if that's what he's doing though. Obviously you can't tell, so you're looking for indications. I'd say if his open raises have been 3bet "a lot" in the past couple of rounds then he's a lot more likely to be looking for a squeeze.
