You\'re a poker professor. What\'s your required reading?

You have two classes to teach. The first class is on small stakes (up to say $5-10) no-limit. The second class is on limit (up to maybe $10-$20). The classes have to accommodate both online and live players. You can assign only four books to each class. Your purpose is to turn all the students into good, winning players. Which do you choose?

Limit:
1.
2.
3.
4.

NL
1.
2.
3.
4.

Re: You\'re a poker professor. What\'s your required reading?

choice depends on whether the class have any understanding of poker.

Limit:
1. ITH
2. SSHE
3. HPFAP
4. WTHG OR D&B SHORTHANDED BOOK.

NL
1. HOW TO DOMINATE $1/2 NL.
2. PNL1
3. NLHE T&P
4. No limit Texas Holdem Angel Largay.

I presume the NL is cash game orientated rather than tourney?

Also i would like to add GSIH to the above books but feel that it could be dispensed with if the class is being taught (perhaps set as an introductory reader before term/class starts.

You are probably not qualified to teach if you have to ask this question.

Re: You\'re a poker professor. What\'s your required reading?

There is no good curriculum on NL hold'em really, PNL is a good book, but very basic .. the aren't really good, some are ok, but none are good.

Limit

You want the stox book and the new d&b shorthanded book ... add SSHE and you are good, four books are hard to find, tho if you are a complete noob, GSIH by Ed Miller might be added to.

GL mate !

I'd add TOP (Theory of Poker) for both games.

1. ITH <- what does this stand for?

1. HOW TO DOMINATE $1/2 NL. <- Is this a book? I've never heard of it and it's a pretty strange title + google brings no results

Yeah, cash games. Not tourney.

Again, I'm not teaching anything. Nor is anyone else I know. I just thought it'd be an interesting discussion.
