3/6 6 handed, Resteal with 77?
hello there
NL600, PartyPoker SB: $812 BB: $980 UTG: $180.00 MP: $620.00 CO: $420 (Sit Out) Hero (BTN): $280 Preflop: Hero is dealt 7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]7 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (6 Players) UTG folds, MP raises to $22.00, Hero - ? the table was rather tight (as far as 20 hands may say that, but it looked like everyone wanted to steal blind when they get late position. i've seen that guy raised 2x times, and 1 time i reraised him for $52 protecting my blind and he folded. ANd now he raises again, and the CO was sit out i decided he steals again. so i wanted to reraise him but because i wasnt so deep and it was all of my bankroll lol, I just got it from free bonus $25, after beating some NL100 table, so keep in mind ive payed in Busto-Robusto style) i decided to put him on tought decision and raised all in instead of just reraising for smth like 60. My hand may easily be dominated in most of flops, and even with position, i dont like to give up this hand to him if he raise any flop. I either dont want to just call, allowing him bluff his "strong hand" in futher streets How bad it was or maybe it was not so bad? Maybe I should just call and play flop? Hero raises $280 (all in) |

You're a bit too deep. You're not really putting him to a tough decision unless he has 88 or 99, all other hands basically play themselves.

ummm...first of all, buy in full? You're aren't a shortstack or a full stack, you're the worst stack (weeeeeee, it rhymes.)

Re: 3/6 6 handed, Resteal with 77?
aditya: it was all he had online. anyway stack size isnt relevant to what you should do in the hand.
I'd call and stack on suitable flops. With the stack size you have this is a bit of an ugly hand to play so nothing is going to be that pretty, but I think fold is a bit better than raise but call is better than both. |
Re: 3/6 6 handed, Resteal with 77?
Since you don't have odds for set-mining, if you flat here, you need to make a move on a few types of flops to make up EV.
Pushing doesn't seem so bad. We are probably folding out a few better hands like 88-TT and we are actually marginally ahead of any two big broadways, which may fold and further increase our EV. That damn guy who doesn't let you limp in every pot. |

[/ QUOTE ] Yeah of course, by suitable flops i meant not Axx or Kxx etc I did a few calcs and stacking off looks roughly neutral as against folding vs MP assuming he calls TT+, AQs+, AKo. Subtract a bit off that for the possibility it gets called behind you and the possibility he calls looser and i think stacking should go a little negative. I think the cbets you pick up when you flat call will make that a bit better. |

I really think this belongs in small stakes.
