Solid Donk!

Villain is 27/22/1.8 after 350 hands. He's also a winner.

How to play this flop...

Flop: 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img](7.5SB, 2 players)

Fold.

Too wide of a range to put him on, all the way from A2-AK to AKs (clubs) and a ton of other hands. I doubt you're good here. I think it's definitely one of those where you can get your money in better later on down the road against this 'solid donk' as you use.

unless you think he is doing this with crap trying to rep the A this is a fold. I would need a note here before I call.

I fold this. You're behind every legitimate hand that he could have. Every once in a while they are trying some stupid [censored] with KQ but not enough to call this down, especially vs a good player.

well that sucks

Should he have any reason to think you would fold?

I mean what is your image. If you have been folding a lot lately cuz you run bad you can call this down.

This is not a standard way to play Ax. Not saying he never has it, but if this hand got posted from his view and he had an ace, noone would recommend a donk. I think this is often a draw or 9x. I would call and play some poker on the turn, maybe folding, maybe raising, maybe calling and folding the river UI.

Hence the post. For fear of some flaming from you, Oink, I'll refrain from saying where this hand was played! Suffice to say the table is tight and shall we say, honest. So yes, he has some reason to believe I would fold a non-ace. His image of me is probably similar to mine of him.

There is some folding going on and showdowns are less than regular. When he donks the flop I think he wants to know where he stands? His range for wanting to know where he stands is stronger than my holding...right?

But might a player who wants to know where he stands fold to a raise here? How often?

Id stop trying to put the guy on a hand that makes sense, because nothing does.

Hero took control of action PF, is anyone against raising this on the flop. Take control back, and you're doing it on a cheap street, and we can reevaluate the turn.

Re: Solid Donk!

1. Fold
2. Raise, if he 3-bets, caps.
3. B/C
4. B/F

I personally choose fold on this hand, but if you're going to raise and he 3-bets, you have to cap IMO. You could just call, but I think if you're going to go as far as showing strength, you have to cap to try and make him think you hit your set or have AA. The only problem being he would probably call with a flush draw. I think he would fold with any ace besides maybe AK.

If you're going to play it, you just have to pray a club doesn't come.
