100NL Live full house on board, i play board, std push?
 

Live 100NL game

I have about $110. CO is solid player who has me covered.

Preflop: 2 limpers. I raise from BN to $15 with AKs, SB calls, CO calls
Flop ($47): J J 7 rainbow
checks around
Turn ($47): J
SB checks, CO bets $20, I call, SB folds
River ($87): 7
CO checks, I push all-in for $77

Comments welcomed on all streets, especially river.

bet the flop, it is the cheapest street to figure out where you stand. Not sure about your bankroll, but pushing on the river hoping for a chop is tough, unless you are willing to rebuy later.

A push is probably good. There is a slight chance that he has a pair higher than 7's, but seeing him check the river is a good indication that he doesn't feel all that comfortable with his hand and he possible is just playing the board too which makes calling hard.

Yes, it really depends on your read. OP said he was a solid player, which i'm assuming means he does things somewhat normally.

Villian was in CO. Normally, people raise PP's like 99+ preflop. 88 is probably raisable from CO too. 66-, maybe not so much.

So looking at it in this manner, the CO probably saw that no one was interested in betting and gave it a shot on the turn. Then when called, shut down.

Of course if you read him differently, then maybe the play is riskier. If he is passive and might limp higher pairs PF then the play becomes too risky. Also, if he is loose and might limp/call with alot of jack hands, then that increases risk too.

in a live game I just don't like the line that led to a push on the river. The bet smells of a bluff, and anybody who has the board beat, has to call.

I thought that we were chopping if I checked, so I was pushing to take the whole pot.

I agree. I don't think this is the best way to represent a strong hand and smells more like a bluff. And yes, I am *probably* getting called down by anyone with the board beat.

But, my read was consistent with CazicT's. I didn't think villain could beat the board. It's doubtful he has TT or higher. He may have 99 or 88 but even then, he's got a tough decision on the river given my preflop-raise-turn-call line and an almost potsize bet.

And if he suspects a bluff, it's still extremely hard for him to call $77 in hopes of chopping and getting $44.
