Villain is unknown however im guessing hes a donk because he bought in shortstack.

Can't see him doing this with a higher PP than 88. Surely im against two overcards or even 22-77?

I'd fold and leave the table.

There are 4 players at an 8-player table who have less than 1/2 a buy-in. If they are playing an aggressive short stack strategy while the 4 deeper stacks are trying to play medium-stack poker, then you will find yourself in a lot of tough spots like this one.

If MP2 does this a lot (like everytime he limps and somebody raises behind him), then call. If this is the first time you've seen it this session, then fold and change tables.

Given how many players are short, you might consider overlimping with the mid-pair and playing for an inexpensive set with good post-flop position.

I'd call here. I don't tend to believe overlimp reraises anyways and especially not from guys with 35 BB.

Do you stay at a table with 4 short stacks? Or do you look for tables where more than 50% of the players have full stacks?

Depends how good the table is. There are some tables with people this short that are far juicier than tables with full stacks.

i dont mind playing tables with half stacks, generally they are worse players, and i dont mind stacking up at half rate if i have to. [img]/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]

I'd definitely fold if this is the first time MP2 does this. Smallstack limpraisers are almost always playing with riskroll and they play their big pairs this way. You could get a coinflip against AK or such but villains range holds bigger pairs than yours too so youre not getting 50-50 against his range.
