general strategy question 6 handed overpair spots on dry boards

hey all...been playing a lot of tournies and drifting back into 6 handed ring...

I've had some very good sessions but find myself getting stacked by the old fashioned set vs overpair...

The play 6 handed is so aggressive is it ever a good idea to be folding an overpair on a dry board? Let's say both players have 100 BBs...problem is raise and reraise pre bloats the pot...by the time we c bet into a bad board the odds often dictate a call...

is it EV+ ever to fold an overpair 6 handed ona dry board?

I'd suggest posting specific hands, this post is way too vague to get any useful responses other than a simple "yes, sometimes it's best to fold overpairs on dry boards".

I don't think I've ever folded an overpair in a reraised pot at micros.

rythm...will post a few recent ones...the general idea is either a limp or raise...I reraise in position with JJ+...get cold called...flop is low rainbow...either they bet into me or check...I bet or raise they reraise...

I think that the range in micro's is so wide that without a strong read I have to go to the mat...

again...assume starting stacks of about $40 (80 BB)...

If you have 80 bb, never fold an overpair on a board that isn't scary.

If you have 125 bb, likewise.

If you have 150 bb, likewise.

If you have 200 bb, it gets closer.

ssnyc, you need to post hands and ask questions in other threads.

The answer to your question, like almost all poker questions, is "it depends."

It depends on your image, the villains stats/style, board texture, history etc.
