AQ vs. weird 4bet shove, call off 80 BB? (NL50)

Only hand I have of note on the villian is that he c/c AK on a Q high flop on another table earlier after raising to 7x BB preflop after two limpers. No stats because my pokertracker freezes my comp up so I can't import hands as I play. Never seen him before tonight, but he was at least 4 tabling.

weird play. i'd fold to the raise the first time against an utg raiser but you give no info on him .

I don't remember who UTG was, but folding is out of the question here. Sometimes I call, but I think the 3bet is more +EV. I mean it only 2.5 BB for me to call with AQ.

edit: What do you do vs. the shove? I'm not too worried about my 3bet. Lets just consider that played correctly for the purpose of the thread (and since I'd do the same thing again right now).

[/ QUOTE ] I understand what you're saying here, this just isn't how I think about poker. You have an ok hand OOP against 3 others so calling is bad and w/o a read on the utg player I'm just folding.

You are getting a little over 1.4:1 to call. In order to correctly call, you would need to have at least 42% equity.

You would barely be getting enough odds to call if he was pushing QQ-99,ATs+,AQo+, which is probably a generous range for him. As played, I would fold this.

To call you have to have 38% equity in this spot. If he's pushing wider than TT/AQs+/AQo+/KQs to make it profitable. I think his range is weighted towards JJ/QQ/AK which you only have 31.1% equity against.

I think this is an easy fold. I've been seeing alot of people doing this lately and its been AA every time i've noticed.

The best I think you could hope for is a coin flip and the odds of that aren't great.

fold.

I'd think this: I'm like 70% in a coinflip, 20% vs AK, 5% against aces or kings, 5% the guy went nuts and I'm against a weaker ace. Overall, I'm about 40% to win the had, 1:1.5 dog.
Odds are 1:1.4.

Marginal fold IMO.
