Live $20 rebuy mtt at the local casino.

1k/2k blinds, no antes 7 handed at this table 13 left, 9 get paid. the pay out is like this:

1- 1.1k
2- $700
3- $450
4- $350
5- $250
6- $180
7&8- $135
9- $95

Nit from utg raises all in for 7.3k folds to me in the cutoff with TT and a stack of 15k. Some background, these guys won't shove, especially this guy with anything less then a range of 99+, AJ+. My TT isn't doing that well vs utg's range. I have a 9k stack otb a big 30k stack on the sb and a 9k stack in the bb. I know these guys won't reraise unless they have AK, JJ+. Do I call off half my stack against a range I'm behind, or fold and steal the blinds like I've been doing with zero risk?

There are a couple of micro short stacks at the other table.

Winning poker is acting on your accurate reads. You have a read that, in your mind, is accurate. Fold without a care or a second guess. You don't need to take the short end of a gamble yet.

well its certainly shove or fold.

id push all in. your hand is one of the best possible hold em hands when you see all 5 cards. calling is completely unfeasible because it commits you, and youre getting overlay on any coin flip assuming the blinds fold. if you lose you still have 6 hands before the blinds hit to push all in and hopefully get right back to where you are now.

Push. You are 47% against the range you give, which is ahead of pot odds, assuming everyone else folds. It is unlikely anyone else will call, and if they do, you are often ahead against AK. Also nit who pushed may push looser since he is about to be blinded out.

Live I'd be leaning to a fold here.Think you are spot on when it comes to the pushing range, except that UTG is getting really short, and might be pushing wider than you think. No matter, you are a coinflip at BEST,and if,like you say,you can steal blinds to maintain/increase your stack I'd definately wait for a better spot.

And yes, small live tourneys like this are a different world from online, which is why this is a fold.

If the table is as nitty as you say, then I question your reads as to Villain's pushing range, because if the nits are folding to pushes, then you aren't seeing the showdowns to prove your theory.

I imagine his pushing range is wider than you think, and with TT I push here ... who knows when you'll get your next hand, and with the blinds so big, I think you gamble for a bigger stack and bigger money.

Even if you lose, you have 8k, and if the table is as nitty as you say, you still should be able to pushbot your way to more chips.

I shoulda added that I also thought there was a decent chance that their might be a chop at the final table. I will also add that all the guys at the table have absolutely no clue how to play short stack poker and are tight as hell. Much tighter then you'll see online. I got a read that he didn't mind if I called, as he didn't look nervous at all when I started playing with my chips.

Although UTG is a nit, you need to take into account the next 2 hands will 1/2 his stack due to blinds and you must assume his range will widen a lot more because of this. I would be pushing here 500% of the time.

These guys don't think like this. They have no clue how to play poker much less mtt strategy.

I think the answer to my question is dependent on the probability that a deal is done at the table. UTG had AQ, I folded, another short stack to my left reraised all in also with AQ. I would have busted them both. *sigh*
