I like an all in raise here but the bubble and stack sizes have conspired to make me weak passive and I fold.

Did you consider shoving preflop? When a big stack limps into a tiny stack, he's either trapping with a huge hand, trying to induce a shove with a strong hand, or limping trash with the intention of folding pre to a shove (very bad.) If he limped trash, there is a good chance he hit this flop. If he limped to induce a shove with a like A9, then he could be bet/folding, or he may even call with 2 overcards if he puts u on a move/draw. Given your stack sizes, his limp is really strange, as he should be raising or folding here.

I prob fold here, then kick myself for not shoving pre.

Re: BPBK on the Bubble

I actually don't hate a shove...we're in last with a super short stack and a shorthanded table...blinds come around really quickly...unless SB decided to play trappy preflop, there's a good enough chance he didn't hit the flop and we're ahead.

edit: I think because we maybe should be shoving pf over a limp, he definitely could complete with a hand exactly like A9/AJ to induce a shove and minbets flop with ace high...in situations where I feel this is a possibility (and I'm short enough) I'll check preflop with the intention of shoving any time I hit the flop.

All you pre-flop shovers, what % of time do you think SB is trapping, what % limping trash?

Re: BPBK on the Bubble

He's gets dealt trash so much more than a trappable hand and as such it's "trash" a huge %...though I'm less convinced about a preflop shove now, I keep looking at these situations and vaguely calculating/estimating/thinking shoving is +EV & forgetting checking >0EV as well

Re: BPBK on the Bubble

I would think that this is a pretty easy fold. We have pretty much nothing, and yeah, with his stack he could easily be bluffing, but are we really going to risk our tournament life here?

Also,re the possibility of pushing preflop. I think that is a way too risky play here. I would have liked any potential reads on SB,but his limp here seems fishy,He's got a big stack, why not raise. If he's got nothing,he can fold if we push. To me,this seems like a situation where he limps hoping for a push....either that or he's got a totally crap hand and didn't have the guts to raise,in which case he could easily have hit this flop. Either way,I'd fold here.
