So are folding and shoving both bad? I considered all 3 options at least breifly.

shoving's pretty bad and I'm pretty sure you have set odds.

id need reads to shove this preflop.its a utg raise, which most give a lot of respect to, and the guy ccing 1/4th of his stack shows a lot of strength.

You cant fold because your getting set odds. So not liking the other 2 options, id call.

Simple call I think. The problem will be what to do after the flop if it is something like 2, 5, 7.

Meh... I prob just shove I'm not sure if its good but the worst case scenario is you get it in with QQ getting like 2.5:1. Besides JJ and TT will for sure call your shove sometimes.
