nah don't like it at all, he's got a decent hand and I remember this dude as a station

It depends on how observant he is. You're probably reraising AK and AQ pre here OTB most of the time. You probably don't show up with JT here too often. You probably wouldn't check behind on the turn with a set of 6s.

I guess your best made hand looks like KQ. If he's playing really scared and tight, this will work. Otherwise it seems doomed to fail.

Re: FTP 25/50NL river bluffraise

my feeling is that this player, while not horrible, is not overly complex. he seemed to play rather simply, and i felt extremely comfortable playing hands with him blind/blind over the course of the session. ie, he was not very tricky at all (so i pretty much ruled out him having a set in this spot... and i was sure it wasnt only a king: he had an ace i was sure at this point)

i also had not been reraising pre much, and AQ is not an automatic reraise for me here at all.

Re: FTP 25/50NL river bluffraise

Is he gonna fold KQ to this raise?

CTS says he's a station. If you can't make him fold KQ, then I really dislike the play.

this works always better when u have something to represent (except JT). if for example a backdoor flush came or the 6 paired i think theres a much higher chance to get him to fold his ace.

btw cts... i had the exact opposite line on this guy. i thought he folded too much.

result: he tanked it forever, time ran down down and he folded. i dont know what he had. I think AJ or possibly AT...

do you show here? i usually don't show, but in this case i couldnt resist. i turned off automuck during the tank...

Re: FTP 25/50NL river bluffraise

i dont think this bluff would ever work on a good player unless there is history. I just didn't have this guy pegged as a tough, thinking player. I felt like he would see the raise without going the ranges and figuring out that this bluff doesnt make sense for most aces up or sets... only JT, thus its callable. I just thought he'd get "scurred". Sure enough while thinking he was typing that he knew i had JT...

I wanted to post the hand though, because I was thinking about it after, and I started to think that this wouldn't work usually on a good player. And it looks like that's the case because a bunch of good players are telling me it doesn't really make sense (unless I play a 66 or 33 goofy and check behind on the turn or nail a gutshot... which adds up to a look-me-up call, range wise, i think...)
