Villain was running 70/30/1 through about 40 hands. I realize that it's $2 to call and I'm getting 4-1, but does he not have a spade here often enough? This play screamed spade to me. The flat call on the flop and turn made me feel like my hand was no good. Fwiw, I folded, is that a good play?

i call because he is likely to do that with a non spade too.

There is a high probability that you are beat at this point. Instead of examining this point, let's look at what you could have done earlier in the hand to avoid this problem. You raised 3.5BB preflop. Let's change that to 5-6BB raise pf. Now our potsized flop bet makes our commitment strategy clear. Considering the high VPIP of the villain, you really want to commit when you are getting the best of it. He'll call that big PF bet more often than you think and you'll be in a great situation postflop.

fold, he just put his last $2 in, u think he did this to make u fold as a really sneaky bluff? ehhhh no this is $10NL fold. Up to the river seems fine, could have maybe checked the turn to see what he did and if he bet then pushed. I mean he's pretty short and even though he's agro PF (40 hands means nothing really though)i think check the turn and push is good. Other than that fold

I can kinda see how I can check raise turn, or just check and re-evaluate the turn. Jack I think that you are right there.

However, I completely disagree with argy's advice. I am not opening AK to 5-6 BB with 4 people behind me. I think that to keep my raises consistent when opening, 5-6 BB is way too much. Maybe that's just me though.
