got a phonecall from gammonempire
 

Hi,
I got a phonecall from backgammonsite gammonempire today.
He said we haven't seen you for a while, do you still play backgammon.
I said yes.
He said we would like to welcome you back with a deposit bonus.
I said ok, i was thinking like never hurts to play out a bonus.
he asked me credit card number, i said, i have a epassporte virtual visa, and it probably doesn't work on their site.
Now he said, well we can try, and he asked the expiration date, the number, and the ccv2.
now i waws not thinking and just gave it to him on the phone.
Am i in trouble now?
I emailed Gammonempire support to ask if this was normal bussiness?
I called up epassporte support, and they said it's all probably ok, and nothing crooked.
But i still feel some doubts.
What do you guys think?

you're not liable for any unauthorized charges on your credit card. if you see anything fishy on your statement in the next few months, just call your bank and they'll take them off your bill (and give you a replacement account number).

by paying with your credit card you ensure a relatively high level of security, even if your account number is stolen. any company who takes your numbers of the phone or internet has very little protection if you later call the bank and say that it's not legit (even if it actually was, but that's another story).
